See What PAC is Up To....

With plenty of June moisture coupled with sunny, warm days...plants, trees, grass and seeds are sprouting at PAC. Staff nurture the vegetable and flower starts planted by Little Wrangler Day Campers...

And, this week, when the Wyoming Highway Patrol is at PAC for training, Officers share some K-9 time with our day campers.  The kids loved learning how the canine assists law officers in their jobs:

Thank you, WHP, for sharing your time and K-9 expertise with us!

BEHIND THE SCENES....

As I wrote a few days ago, we’ve been hard at work to get PAC ready for a busy 2016 summer season!

In addition to the pictures posted June 8th, check out a few more snapshots to give you a peek into (just some of) the work being done.

As well as cleaning and maintenance, Staff have engaged in active shooter training led by law enforcement, as well as other department specific trainings throughout the week.

We will be ready to see you MONDAY, JUNE 13TH, when the doors open at 5am!

PAC STAFF BUSY AT WORK!

Though PAC is closed to the public this week, from June 6 – 12, a lot is happening inside!

This is the week of the year when BIG maintenance and custodial tasks can be completed when areas are not being used by our patrons.  We deep clean, wash, scrub, paint and repair.  Outside vendors that need time for a product to dry and cure come to provide their services.

Staff plan for many weeks what supplies and equipment will be needed to accomplish the SHUTDOWN list that has been compiled all year…since the last SHUTDOWN.  Each day, task lists and checklists are crossed off as our industrious Staff take care of business.

Additionally, staff in-services are held that encompass everything from emergency first aid scenarios that could occur in various parts of the building, to an active shooter drill with law enforcement.
Any final updates on summer schedules are determined, forms are all updated, winter all packed up and put away...and summer ushered in.

In short, PAC is "spit polished" and made ready for YOU!

This year, SUMMER BEGINS MONDAY, JUNE 13TH.  The doors open at 5am Monday through Friday and close at 7pm.  Saturday hours are 10am – 6pm.  PAC is closed on Sunday.   Spend time on our website to peruse your options from personal training, tennis clinics, climbing outings, outdoor fitness classes, adventure days, a family overnight camping trip, to the kids coming everyday for our fun and educational Little Wrangler Day Camp.  Everyone signed up for swim lessons?!

Meanwhile, see what is happening this week at PAC:

PRESS RELEASE FROM PAC

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE PINEDALE AQUATIC CENTER
May 19, 2016

Prompted by a significant reduction in projected PAC revenues for fiscal year 2016-2017, the Joint Powers Board has directed a re-structuring of the Pinedale Aquatic Center.  PAC is funded primarily via a Recreation Mill levied by SCSD#1.  PAC anticipates a revenue shortfall of approximately $1 million dollars.

As a result of the re-structure, the following actions were taken:
  • PAC will be CLOSED on Sundays, beginning June 19th.
  • Sections of the facility will not be open for public use for periods of time, e.g., specific day-time pool closures, and/or only one pool open at a time, as well as belay staff available on a more limited basis for the climbing wall.  This will begin July 1, 2016.
  • All Staff salary and wage step schedules were frozen and decreased by 5%.  Additionally, wages for most part-time positions were reduced significantly, up to 20%.  This begins July 1, 2016.
  • Employees eligible for health and dental benefits will have those benefits reduced from family rate coverage to single rate coverage.  This begins July 1, 2016.
  • Five full-time positions were eliminated at PAC, and departments were consolidated.  This resulted in lay-offs, and employees moving from full-time status to part-time status without benefits.  Lay-offs have taken place and status changes begin July 1, 2016.
  • PAC will close one hour earlier Mon. - Fri. for the fall/winter/spring hours, beginning August 29th (8pm instead of 9pm).  This will be in addition to the Sunday closure.

The summer 2016 schedule will be as anticipated, including great programs, activities and events for all ages.  Remember that our summer hours are:  Mon.-Fri. from 5am - 7pm, and Sat. from 10am - 6pm, beginning June 13th. To the best of our ability, the Staff at PAC will continue to provide this community with the recreational opportunities it has come to count on and enjoy.  We ask for your continued support and utilization of PAC now and far into the future.  Find our latest Activity Guide online at:  www.pinedaleaquatic.com.  We will post all of our updates on hours and activities there.

Transformations at PAC

Kathy George and Sharon Rauenzahn began coming to PAC in October, 2015, to "walk it off!"  Their goal was to walk the PAC track one and one half hours per day.  The PAC Staff are witnesses to their rigorous discipline in sticking with the plan.  They report today that they have lost 30 pounds each, and best yet, Kathy says her blood work indicates normal numbers as a result of her exercise and weight loss!

Kathy and Sharon are thrilled with PAC.  They say the "family friendly" atmosphere, the helpful, happy Staff, the new "family accommodating" bathrooms and the ability to walk inside all winter long on the rubberized indoor track have made the difference in their lives.  They can't imagine Pinedale without PAC!

Though they may head outdoors this summer, they fully intend to return to PAC's track in the fall.

Stay tuned for more PAC Success Stories....

Why don't you tell us YOUR story about how PAC has made a difference in your life.
