It’s not every day that a champion emerges. However, we have TWO home-town, home-grown
champions in our midst here at PAC.
Every day, Bart Myers and Cork Kelly dive into the clear
waters of our competition pool to perform their daily workouts. Each have set individual goals for themselves,
which typically include training for their next event.
This summer it was the Senior Olympics. Bart competed in the Wyoming Senior Olympics
that took place in Sheridan. Cork
competed in the Kearney, Nebraska Senior Games.
As you can see, each came home with indications of the
success of all that discipline and diligence in training that readied them to
compete against many swimmers in their respective age groups.
Bart swam the 1500 meter freestyle race and won bronze; the
50 meter freestyle to win silver; and the 500, 200, 100 and 25 meter freestyle races
where he took the Gold.
Cork swam the 50 meter back and freestyle races and won
silver medals. In the 50, 100, and 200
meter breaststroke races, Cork took the Gold and thinks he may have set new
records in his 80-84 age group!
PAC is very proud of these two loyal patrons and salutes the
example they set for all of us to stay active, set goals and achieve!
As its been said, “Keep on swimming….!”
Congratulations Bart and Cork….and thank you for continuing
to inspire us each and every day!
